2024 has marked a year of significant progress in advancing our sustainability initiatives and expanding our production capabilities, all while continuing to support green energy solutions and laying the foundations for long-term growth. Below are some of the key milestones that have defined our year.

2024 End of Year Review

Advancing Green Energy Solutions

In April, we completed the £1.8 million (€2.1 million) expansion of our production facility, which included the installation of a second etch room featuring five advanced etch and stripping machines. This expansion has significantly increased our ability to manufacture key components for cutting-edge technologies, such as hydrogen production, carbon capture, and electric vehicles.

Following this investment, we secured our first major production contract in September for components used in net-zero technologies. This achievement represents a key milestone in our ongoing support of global OEMs focused on sustainable energy. It also underscores our increased capability to manufacture high-precision parts from larger, thicker sheet metals, enabling us to meet the rising demand across a broader spectrum of high-tech industries.

Investing in Solar Power

Sustainability is not only a priority in the solutions we offer to our customers, but it also remains central to our operations. In August, we took a significant step towards reducing our environmental footprint by installing 260 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels on the roof of our production facility. This move is expected to cut our carbon emissions by 23 tonnes and reduce our overall carbon footprint by 270 tonnes annually. Moreover, the solar panels are set to deliver a 35% internal return on investment, reinforcing our dedication to both lowering environmental impact and managing energy costs effectively.

Nurturing Future Talent Through Apprenticeships

This autumn, we proudly welcomed our third cohort of apprentices into our Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship scheme. This program enables young talent to combine formal education with hands-on experience, equipping them with the skills needed for a successful engineering career. By investing in apprenticeships, we are not only helping to build a skilled workforce but also supporting our local community and contributing to our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.

Community Support and Charitable Giving

As part of our broader ESG initiatives, we’ve continued our support for local charitable causes. In December, we donated £2,500 to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and we had the privilege of visiting the hospital this year to see firsthand how our contribution has made a difference. Our team also participated in a Macmillan coffee morning, raising a record £402 for the charity. We remain passionate about supporting our community and have plans to expand our charitable efforts in 2025.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, we remain committed to advancing sustainable manufacturing practices, enhancing our production capabilities, and fostering growth among our employees. Our focus on green energy, community involvement, and sustainability will continue to guide us, and we are excited about the progress that lies ahead.

Thank you for your ongoing support throughout 2024. We look forward to further collaboration in the coming year.
